Precision of Recitation
Once the breath is steady, recitation becomes a matter of precision. This intermediate course refines your voice — moving between chest and head voice, lengthening your breath, and controlling your volume and vibrato — then opens your first maqamat, Saba and Ajam.

The clip from the top of this page is already loaded. Press the circle, recite along with Saif, and watch your pitch against his as you go. Nothing is recorded and nothing is saved.
Real-time pitch readout. Sing any note and see exactly where you are. Click Play reference to follow a clip. The gold "ghost" on the bar shows where the reference is right now.
Step-by-step note matching. The reference clip is broken into individual notes; you sing each one in turn. Hold the right pitch for ~5s and the drill auto-advances.
Load a reference clip to start drilling.
Or open the Maqam Library, pick any clip, and click Practice with this, the drill will use that clip's pitch sequence.
Find your range in about a minute, then every clip plays in your key, so you can recite any maqam in your own voice.
Still can’t hear you? Set your range by ear, tap ▶ Play to hear a note, then pick the lowest and highest you can sing.

Choosing your course

Which course is right for me?
Foundation if you're still working on breath and finding your natural voice. Precision if your breath is steady and you want control: moving between chest and head voice, vibrato, and your first two maqamat, Saba and Ajam. Mastery if you're ready for the maqamat proper and want to give the adhan. If you're between two, start at the lower one. The earlier courses are short and the foundations carry into everything after.
Do I have to take them in order?
Nothing is locked. You can open any course you own straight away, in any order, and you keep lifetime access. That said, the skills genuinely build: Precision assumes the steady breath Foundation teaches, and Mastery assumes Precision's control. Most people are best served going in order, and taking them out of order is a choice rather than a shortcut.
Can I skip straight to Mastery?
You can, nothing is locked. But Mastery spends its time on melody rather than mechanics, so it assumes you can already hold a steady tone and control your breath. If you are not sure, Foundation is the shorter course and it is what Mastery is built on top of.
What if I choose the wrong level?
You're covered by the 30-day guarantee above, so nothing is locked in. If you think you'll want more than one level, take them together, a path costs less than adding courses one at a time, and the included Practice Studio months and Personal Reviews are larger when they're on one order.
